Hi my name is Keith Kowal

I am looking for any relatives I may have in Poland. My grandfather was named Joseph who fought for Poland in the second war. As far as I know he was a prisoner of war before escaping to Scotland where he settled , married and had family. I believe he was from the Warsaw area or ares close by. I`m not sure if my surname has been altered in anyway as my grandfather never talked about Poland or would never answer any questions I asked. I do know that he had family as they sent several letters to him in his early days in Scotland but for reasons only know to himself my grandfather refused to answer them. I am very proud of my Polish roots but would like more information on my grandfather and and family I might have in Poland. I believe he was a in a parachutist but again I have little to go on. Any help would be grateful

Hello, Keith, there are 16034 KOWAL in Poland, and 519 in the area of Warszawa. If you know your grandfather's birthday and the place where he is born, you can write and ask a birth certificate. You will know his parents'names.
