Full Version: Polish Vs Ukrainians?
What the hell is up with all the fighting over the differences between polish and ukrainians? Back in the day when my great grandparents came from Galicia there was no "poland" or "ukraine". over here poles and ukrainians are very close, view eachother as brothers and the same people. Myself and any other poles i've met are part ukrainian and any ukrainian i've met here is part polish! fighting over past wrongdoings is retarded. if you go back far enough in history any type of people you can imagine has done something horrible to another type of people. does the passing of time make it less terrible? NO! but can you blame the people of today for what their ancestors did to your ancestors? NO! you were'nt there , it didnt happen to you, and noone alive today did it to you. so give up the grudge! *done rant*
My great grandmother was Ukrainian and was born in 1893 in Lublinetz Nowij, Galacia. I remember her telling us stories of why she left there to come to America, one of which was because the Polish communists killed her brothers. polish communists back then? i'm not sure about that, i thought that communism was forced after the second world war.... anyways i'm pretty sure i remember my grandma saying her grandpa came over from Galicia because austrian officers strongarmed her family off of their land and slaughtered their livestock! nice people everywhere eh?
