I’m helping my mother-in-law Diane Szumowski (now Zorzynski) find relatives and friends in Poland. She is travelling to Lomza about the second week of June this year and would like to find what family is still there. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Diane left Lomza Poland in 1947 (I believe) with her father and brother. Her maiden name was Szumowski. Her father was Franciesrek (Frank) Szumowski. Frank had two sisters: Franis Waldinska and Jadwiga. Jadwiga married Zygmuta Blusiewicz and had a daughter: Hanna Niklewicz. Hanna has a son Karolek Niklewicz.

Diane is traveling from Krakow to Warsaw and on to Lomza, reaching Lomza somewhere around 17-19 June. I know this is short notice, sorry. Could anyone help me find any of the people mentioned? Even if you only have tips on other resources that could help me find her family that would be greatly appreciated!

Diane (Danuta Szumowski) here. I'm actually from the village of Skowronki in Lomza. I'm very excited to visit after 60 years! Hopefully things have not changed so much that I don't recognize my home town. I'm hoping to find someone who remembers me and I remember!
