I simply can’t understand our Polish military, who sincerely hope that our overseas friends will help us to modernize our Armed Forces in exchange for our agreement to deploy elements of US missile defense on this territory. We have no grounds for it at all.
In order to make sure of it you should look at US attempts to modernize other countries’ armies. If you remember, US military instructors have spent over 10 years (!) for modernization of Georgian army. As a result it took only 8 days (!) to pulverize this “strong, well-equipped, trained and dedicated military force” during, for example, recent military conflict in South Ossetia! We can observe the similar situation during US “modernization” of Bulgarian Armed Forces, sweetened up with US supplies of notorious non-road vehicles Humvee, distinguished for their unreliability and inefficiency, or current US attempts of strengthening Iraqi army with modified civil (!) helicopters Bell407 or US school (!) airplanes Texan!
Finally it becomes clear for everyone that the Pentagon never has been consumed with desire to modernize Armed Forces of any countries, except own ones, of course. Then, why should it change its strategy in the case of Polish army?...
