As a Canadian Catholic my heart is heavy because our dear Pope, Jean Paul II, has passed away. But I know the saddness in Poland must be the deepest. As a native son of Poland he is a part of your hearts. But the life of Jean Paul is also your gift to the world, and now with his passing, he is your gift to the ages. We will never forget our Papa.

I am a Polish-born Canadian Catholic.
I happened to be in Poland when the pope died. The grief i experienced and saw around me there was like no other i had seen before.
I was astounded by how much people love.
I loved my pope and woke up at 4 am to watch his funeral.
I will miss him as my pope and keep him in my heart forever for what he did for the Catholic Church, but especially what he did for Poland.

tak tak, newest anonymous. he crushed communism, destroyed russia, even what the germans and americans could not do. as one man with millions of roman catholics (peacefully) behind him. russia will never be the same. they have no economy, their population will be cut in half in 45 years (go to russia.com, you´ll see) (150 million to 75) and their pride is forever shattered. but that´s what they get for fucking around with the People´s Republic! (and that long word in Polish that a mut american never shall deserve to memorize).
